Yeah, I'd think the extremely strong alumni network would mitigate any of the negatives regarding the location. From my admittedly outsider experience, no way a Wharton/Columbia grad would go out of his way to help a current student. Booth maybe, but that's a stretch.
Tuck has a strong network, but I wouldn't make an overarching statement about Wharton/CBS. I’ve worked with some very helpful people for the more “cut-throat” schools, and I’ve also heard about the “Tuck Elites”. There are different kinds of people at all schools. Even if Wharton has less helpful alums in general, it also has 4-5 times as many alums.

The long period of silence today from the time of the 1st admit bothers me. From previous year's threads and what we saw yesterday, that does not bode well for applicants.

I wouldnt worry yet. Seems like they'll start calling a bit later today. I'd be more worried if acceptances were pouring in, and my phone was silent.

They probably had their Christmas party last night and are rolling into the office late today. No one wants to talk to applicants until their headache is gone.

There is a positive scenario for ya ;)

Was called at 11:37am EST today!!! Was on the extended waitlist at Tuck last year so I'm assuming they wanted to be nice and made me one of the first U.S. calls today.

I was careless: I Just sent tuck my self initiated interview resume and singed the email "King regards" instead of "Kind regards" by mistake. How bad is this for my application?

As a side note I'm not a King (just in case jeje)

You must speak Spanish bc I think I am the only one that gets that jeje means you're laughing in Spanish. JAJAJA :)

My thoughts exactly :-D

Not the only one. I got the chiste as well.

Officialy turned down Tuck this week....It was a very extremely tough choice, but as many people on here have said "you have to be passionate about the program." I thought the school and everyone I met seemed extremely nice, intelligent and welcoming, but in the end I just didn't think it was a great fit. Best of luck to everyone applying and hopefully I just made someone on the waitlist very happy!

I saw the "thanks for your interest in Tuck" line and was like, "early ding. great."

The wait is killing me and I applied in the January round. So much longer! AHH!

Can EA round admits/dings confirm the logic behind this email ? Does this email mean a ding and the reverse, not receiving this mean an admit/waitlist ?

You people need to actually read the responses from about a page before because this was an email CONFIRMING TUCK'S RECEIPT OF MY GMAT SCORES.

So finally the day has come. Today is the day that we all have been waiting for. The day where the outcome of our hard work will be known. :)

Tuck is my top choice, so I really really hope I will get the call today. My phone will be on full volume at work and on the gym today.

Good luck to everyone!

If I've applied to the Jan round w/o applicant initiated interview and I haven't received school initiated interview yet - may I say that I am dinged?

BTW int'l applicant here.

With all due respect, you can say whatever you want, and so can anyone here. It would still be a guess. Decisions are released on March 15th. I think that if by March 10th you are still not invited, maybe it's a lost cause. Until then, there's no need to be pessimistic, there is still more than 20 days to go!
Sorry for being so straightforward, but sometimes people get so freaked out about this process that they can't see things as they really are.
I'm also an international applicant (Jan round), and some of us have already been invited and interviewed, but some haven't. I honestly believe it's an ongoing process, they are still going to invite some people.

Be positive!!! Things are not over until the fat lady sings!

Best of luck to you!
