Hi Bunuel,

I marked E,
since to me using "due to" is wrong here and post considering that only E made sense.
Kindly explain how A is the ans.

But then options C and D are similar here.
Due to =because, hence this logic is out of scope. The error is parallelism. I had chosen D' as I thought 'burn and eat in parallel. However realised that bodies and ppl are compared incorrectly in this option. Hence 'A' is correct.

(B) due to their bodies burning calories too slowly than to eating too much

(C) because their bodies bum calories too slowly than that they are overeaters

(D) because their bodies bum calories too slowly than because they eat too much

(E) because of their bodies burning calories too slowly than because of their eating too much

Here first and the most clear thing we can see is at the last part of the sentence, that is a difference between 'overeating' and 'eating too much'

Both are very much different in their meanings.

Overeating is when comparing food you have just ate to what you generally eat, whereas

Eating too much can be overeating or can be eating too much in comparison to others who are , say, sitting next to you.

So because of this ambiguity, we prefer 'overeating'.

Hence we can rule out 'B', 'D' and 'E'.

Only left with 'A' and 'C'.

Now we see that we have an idiomatic structure of 'More .....X.... than ....Y.....'

Now for this both X and Y should maintain parallelism. So accordingly we see both options-

(C) because their bodies bum calories too slowly than that they are overeaters

Not parallel.

(A) due to the fact that their bodies burn calories too slowly than overeating

Here 'that their' is implicit after 'than' and can be considered common for both making the phrases parallel to each other.

So (A) is the best answer possible here
