Unlike the United States, French workers have a 35 hour work week imposed by law on large firms.
point- comparison should be poroper.
we can't compare on country with people of another country.


A. Unlike the United States, French workers have a 35 hour work week imposed by law on large firms
violates the comparison rule. we can't compare one country with people of another country.
B. Unlike workers in the United States, French workers enjoy a 35 hour work week, which was imposed by law on large firms
Proper comparison.
Correct.
C. Unlike those in the United States, the workers in France have imposed by law a 35 hour work week on large firms
'workers in France have imposed' - Wrong.
D. In France, unlike the United States, the workers have imposed a 35 hour work week by law on large firms
Clearly wrong. meaning changed.
E. In France the workers, unlike the United States, have a 35 hour work week, which was imposed by law on large firms
comparison improper.

D cant be the correct option because:
1.In France, unlike the United States the comparisonis between United States and French workers!
2. the workers have imposed a 35 hour work week this implies that workers have imposed a law, which does not make sense!

Understand the meaning of the sentence.
35 hour work week was imposed by law. The workers did not imposed it.

- United States is compared with French Workers
B. Unlike workers in the United States, French workers enjoy a 35 hour work week, which was imposed by law on large firms
Workers of United states are compared with French Worker
Which modifier is correctly placed , modifying work week
C. Unlike those in the United States, the workers in France have imposed by law a 35 hour work week on large firms
Incorrect Meaning: Workers imposed work week law, Comparison is incorrect "Those" is ambigious
D. In France, unlike the United States, the workers have imposed a 35 hour work week by law on large firms
Meaning Issue
E. In France the workers, unlike the United States, have a 35 hour work week, which was imposed by law on large firms
Workers are compared with United states
