US Part Time MBA Rankings, Class Profiles and Comparison

Thanks bb. Well I live and work in LA but I was thinking about Kellog's part time Weekend program. I was thinking I can just fly every weekend. I guess some people do that.

Do you think part time evening program is better than that of the weekend one?
I am giving GMAT on Dec 7th and the deadline to apply for weekend part time is somewhere in March.

I was planning on applying to Washington University. It looks like Saint Louis University is ranked higher than Washington University.

Any suggestions or comparisions

This website really rocks! I just took GMAT and got a score of 760. will write a blog about my experience soon. I'm wondering how Stern is ranked around 20 below many uni's that I've never heard of? Are these rankings reliable?

As for these rankings, I'd rather give more attention to the standing in separate Rankings (USN vs BW) than to the overall ranking. This table was originally intended to serve as a reference tool of Part Time programs but not the ranking tool. This info will soon be in for major revision. Besides, these USN and BW ranking we used here are specific Part-Time rankings which differ from Full-Time MBA rankings.

You see that Stern was ranked #1 by USN, forget about BW and go with #1 from USN .

I just want to confirm what was said before, that you are probably better off by looking at overall school's ranking, i.e.its full-time program ranking, when selecting a part-time program. In most schools, at least in all schools I checked out in DC area: Georgetown, Smith, GWU, Kogod, part-time MBAs get a diploma absolutely identical to that of the full-time graduates, and there is no special note in the diploma that it was done in part-time setting.
So from school recognition point of view, if it is important to you, go with the higher ranked brand of the school, not just part-time programs ranking. Down the road employers are more likely to recognize the better-known MBA brand, than be concerned with finite intricacies of part-time MBA rankings.


Evening programs and weekend programs are essentially the same, unless any particular school makes real distinctions not just in the format, but also content. It's just a way to accomodate different scheduling needs of part-time students. Due to its nature weekend programs are more rigid in terms of courses flow (and therefore more intense, because same material is learned in shorter period of time), and done in cohort mode, whereas some evening programs have flexible format. NYU is ranked 20th? I went to an info session last year, and they were advertising how they were the number 1 part-time program in the country. Given the size (2,000), it does seem a bit less selective than others. Emory?! Loyola?!? both ranked above NYU?! I went to Emory B-School for undergrad and have a lot of pride, but all else being equal, NYU is a more attractive school, no?

What about updating this according to the new USN rankings?

Is that full time tution or the tution for part time programmes. Isnt PT tution 1/3 -1/4 of the tutions mentioned in the list.

any ideas why Pepperdine has not been ranked the past few years? I looked at their class profiles, and they are just as competetive to get in as USC...any ideas?

Really?! NYU is ranked #25 at Business Week? Trailing Elon U., U. of Nevada and U. of Denver (the same school that e-mails me every week to tell me that they are still waiting for my application; have promised me priority app review; and have extended the application deadline for me a couple of times, even though I never showed any interest in applying there)?

NYU's part time program has the same faculty as its full time counterpart, which is ranked top 15 nationwide. And I am pretty confident to assume that its placement record is better than 90% of the schools mentioned in the ranking above.

This tells me more than I need to know about the reputation of BW’s ranking.
