Hi all,
I just wanted to offer a tip to fellow GMAT takers regarding timing charts.
Something I had not understood until after the test is that once you come back from break and sit at your desk, the proctor resumes your test and you forfeit the rest of your break even if you still have time left.
I had planned to take a 5mn break and take the 3 last minutes sitting at my desk to write my timing sheet for the quant section but when I returned to my desk the proctor immediately resumed the test and the test jumped into the quant section (with one minute to read the quant instructions). So I started the test without a proper timing sheet, which I believe cost me many points.
So if you plan to do a timing sheet, follow these steps in this order when the IR finishes
1) Ask for a new pad of scratch paper (well the laminated one)
2) Write the timing sheet and look at your clock here to see how much time is passing in the break
3) Any only then, leave the room to have a break (time yourself!)
Some other people have suggested writing the timing chart at the beginning of the AWA part, but that doesn't work for me because I need a lot of scratch paper for quant and the pad would likely have been filled with my notes from the AWA and IR.
Hope this is helpful to someone and good luck to all testers
