Hi Friends,

I have recently started preparing for GMAT.
I am not able to decide which book will be better for SC, MGMAT SC or Kalpan Verbal workbook.
Apart form SC good practice questions, my requirement from the book is ,it should also give basic understanding and knowledge of the grammar concepts and other tips and strategies for the exam.

So can you suggest which book would be better out of the two mentioned above.

Thanks in advance..

Dear GMATCarzzy,
I'm happy to respond. :-)

The first thing I will say is that the MGMAT books are basically considered the gold-standard of the GMAT prep material industry. I am not aware of any expert who does not hold them in high regard.
Here's our review of that MGMAT volume:

I don't know that we reviewed that particular book by Kaplan, but here are some reviews of other books by Kaplan:
http://magoosh.com/gmat/2012/kaplan-new ... ok-review/
http://magoosh.com/gmat/2012/kaplan-gma ... ok-review/

Also, just to give you a complementary option --- Magoosh has several SC resources you might find helpful. Here's a free GMAT idiom ebook:
http://magoosh.com/gmat/2013/gmat-idiom-ebook/
If you sign up for the Magoosh product, you get our SC lessons. Here's a free sample lesson:
http://gmat.magoosh.com/lessons/944-substantive-clauses
Many of our students have found that the combination of Magoosh lessons and the MGMAT books is an extremely powerful way to prepare for the GMAT.

I hope all this helps.
Mike :-)
