Just wondering as a survey, which verbal guides do you guys recommend for boosting SC scores. I have OG 11 for practice but the explanations make NO sense to me. Which guides provide the most easy to understand explanations of correct and incorrect answers?

So far my list is as follows:

Manhattan guide: (mixed reviews on amazon, citing same examples as OG11)

Kaplan GMAT 800: weak in verbal?

PR: good intro to gmat, but lacks in depth analysis

1000 SC: What is this?????

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As I see it, SC is about two things - understanding the basics of grammer and then practicing extensively.

As such, I would suggest Manhattan GMAT's SC guide. It is just AWESOME! It is simple, to the point, precise explanations and covers everything that you need to know for GMAT SC.

Then in addition, do SC from all possible sources. I do not see much merit in discussing which is better and which is not. If you are constrained by time, then do a combination of OG, SC 1000 and then some MGMAT/Kaplan.

Manhattan GMAT SC is a very good resource. I would seriously consider checking out the Manhattan Review Verbal Guide as well. I found it to be a little bit more comprehensive and the range of difficulty was really a plus. It's good to hear that you're checking out different sources though. SC is my weak point and i've found it helpful to use a variety of resources. Good luck.
