I was considering purchasing the materials or the recorded veritas package for only $150 more. Is it worth it?
How are the booklets by themselves?
Any insight?

I have the current set of books. I have only completed half of the course, but here is my assessment:
1) Books are nicely organized by category of problem (Geo, Alg, Arith, CR, CR 2)
2) CR books have TERRIBLE explanations. The explanations for most answers confused more than clarified.
3) A large portion of the content is taken/stolen directly out of OG11 and PowerPrep. Indeed, many of the problems come from the easy questions of
OG which gives you a false sense of security if you're doing well on the veritas material. However, I have only finished half the material so the second half may be significantly more difficult. With that said, I expect the second half of the material to borrow heavily from OG11 also.
In terms of the books, I would use the OG11 and Math/Verbal books over the Veritas material since it's basically just repackaged anyways. The
OG explanations are far superior too.
The course itself is great for me because I learn best from lecture style lessons. Reading from a book and taking notes myself does not organize the material well for me and does not "stick." Seeing it in an online powerpoint-like presentation is much more helpful. Note: the online lessons do not provide you with a way to print the material off the presentations though.
All in all, I've regretted the decision to go with Veritas. I've read great reviews for
MGMAT though - that's my recommendation. The material they provide is their own with pointers to related OG11 material. Get
MGMAT + OG11 and you should be well on your way.
Hope that helps.
