Hey, I got an email yesterday which said that my profile has been shortlisted for interview and will get instructions 3-5 days prior to the interview

I had applied in Round 2

Anyone else with the same email?

My preferred interview location is Mumbai

Many candidates received two types of communication from ISB yesterday.

1- Interview invitation. Though, ISB did not share the details of the interview date/time/location. Those details will be shared 5 days prior to the interview.
5/9 of our candidates in R2 received this as well. This gets up our total to 17 interview invites out of 22 applications this year.

2- Application Under Review message.
If you received this too - then please do not overthink it. It’s exactly what it says - that your application is still under review and ISB has not made a decision yet.

My suggestion is to simply keep your head down, avoid the noise, and keep preparing for interview invites.

Yes Kolkata interviews were to be taken on 28th Jan. So how come some people got invite for Kolkata and some didn’t

Dates would likely not change. And yes, people with later dates will have more time to prepare. But even if you have the first interview on 7th Jan, you still have more than 2 weeks to prepare.

cant seem to figure exactly this, especially since they are emphasising on 3-5 days , whats the point of sending out invites to in-person folks right now

This is what ISB did in Round 1 as well. Informing people early on regarding their invitation allows the candidates to be better prepared for the interview. The same thing applies for all locations tbh.

The fact of the matter is - when ISB announces interviews or not is outside of our/your control. The only thing that you control is how well prepared you are for the interview.

So our advice to candidates is always to cut the noise and stop looking for explanations which don’t add any value to you. Just focus on your prep and doing the best you can.

partly due to avoid last minute change of schedule if you’ll not be in the location 3-5 days prior to your interview slot. Also, to reduce anxiety among the applicants. Imagine this group every Monday/Tuesday if calls are rolled out on a weekly basis :)

I got this email too. My application got verified for completion just yesterday. I have a fairly good profile (720 gmat, female, diverse educational background and product management experience) so I really hope it’s because of late verification

Same here, My documents got verified on 19th December, and folks got interview invites on 20. I guess the delay is due to late verification of documents.
