Hi makam6,

There's a big difference between working through lots of random practice questions of a particular type (in this case, SC) and taking a FULL-LENGTH CAT under realistic conditions that adapts to your performance - so it's tough to properly assess how strong you actually are in SC at this point.

Since it sounds like you're early-on in your studies, it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can take 2 for free at www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 3.5 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?

Wow! Thank you very much for the responses! You made me very happy I promise! :)

And really appreciate you took some time to answer me.

I am taking this veeeeery slow and did those 200 in like 3 months haha (and also did questions from other sections).

I hope everything goes well for you.
The number of questions is not as important as how much you learn from the questions you are doing :) Also, try to make sure that you're doing good material.

I think the best way to judge SC questions is while doing the OG or the verbal review. there if you can score better than 80-90%. Then you are good to go for a 700+ score.

EMPOWERgmatRichC, yeah I imagine that doing a "simulation" with different sections and timing will be very different but I wanted to prepare a little but before taking a free official test.

Wow thanks for the kind words and will to help me!
My idea is to course the MBA in September 2020 and I have been told the GMAT would be around March.
I am really motivated for the MBA but the GMAT freaks me out.
As long as they accept me I don't mind much about the score tbh.

AjiteshArun, yes I am taking notes of the mistakes I make (parallel structure is key! haha :))

yashnasharma, thanks for the tip

Hi makam6,

Many Test Takers are unhappy with their initial practice scores, but you really shouldn't be. It's just a measure of your skills right now - and we need to know your skills, strengths and weaknesses so that we can put together the proper study plan for you. Nobody can make you take a practice CAT, but it's possible that if you don't take one soon that you will continue to find reasons not to take one.

There is no 'substitute' for taking FULL-LENGTH CATs under realistic and test-like conditions (and at regular intervals). There are aspects to taking the GMAT that you can really only learn by taking those CATs - and just like any other aspect of the Test that you'll need to train for - the more time you have to adapt and hone your skills, the better.

Hi makam6,

BB is 100% correct: It’s difficult for us to provide feedback based on the information you’ve provided. To get a better idea of what is going on, you should first familiarize yourself with the GMAT [/url] and then take an official GMAT practice exam.

Once you complete the exam, please report back here with your score breakdown, and I can provide some further advice.

Also, you may find it helpful to read this article about how to score a 700+ on the GMAT.
