Expert's post
I have followed the discussion since it was started and I knew my time would come.
It is not mysterious and I guess when I started GC in 2002 I did not quite think it was going to catch on or I would have to explain to anyone.... it is the first initial of my name and I doubled it. It was kind of difficult to be just "b", so the bb was born.

The relationship with phpBB, the software we use is purely co-incidental, though very ironic.

fluke: I believe whatever happens in this world is a fluke. My very existence is just a "fluke". And if I were to get into a good business school; trust me, it gotta be a fluke. ;D

What a great topic! Here is my story:

I picked MBAgirl as a legacy to an anonymous blogger who got accepted at Wharton and became one of the key S2S administrators and contributors. Future MBA Girl. Here is her blog: http://futurembagirl.blogspot.com/ She seemed very supportive and made the MBA experience seem more transparent and interesting for outsiders. Her posts got me to fired up about doing an MBA (though they weren't my first inspiration) and also got me interested in Wharton to the point where I visited the school in 2006. The addition of 2010 to my nick happened because I couldn't get MBAgirl only and I didn't want to copy the Future part of her nick (every MBA girl needs a unique part of her name anyway).

Another reason why I decided to go with MBA girl was because at the time MBA and entrepreneurship was not very popular among women. I figured, most people assume that guys are behind online forum nicknames, so why not show the female side of the forum. I think MBA women are doing pretty well around here (we now have several MBAgirls, runnergirl, etc ) and I hope the girl moniker can show more women they can thrive in leadership positions and in business.

wiredo: the name I assigned to my halloween costume - christmas lights and wires running all over my body, a wreath made of wires, an easy switch that made me "light up" like a tree!

bakfed - the abbreviations of three beautiful actresses that I dreamt about dating when I was a teenager.

Funny thing though...I don't remember any of the three actresses anymore...

But what I did then was combined all three abbreviations and tried to make it into a word that is at least 'pronounce-able'.

Michmax, is a combination of my name and my puppy's name, although he is old now

The 3 came when I tried to use Michmax for the first time somewhere and found it was already taken, so I kept increasing the number until I was able to use it and it kind of just stuck

On the contrary, you can change your username here on gmatclub! There's a thread that you just pose in.

An eskimo roll is the name of the technique in kayaking of righting the kayak from capsize. I'm a kayak instructor and for awhile got really into competitive rolling (rolling up the kayak in increasingly harder ways).
