Hi there,

After having spent some time on the admission status thread, I have got a few newbie questions that lingered since then.
If one has the chance to be admitted to a school... what happens?

You are full of excitement after reading that you are admitted to that school but we all apply to several schools, so...
1/ How long does he have to reply?
2/ How much is usually asked as a down-payment?
3/ What is the scholarship process?

Cheers

1. Depends on the school.
2. Depends on the school.
3. Depends on the school.

Each school will have different time limits to accept an offer, deposit requirements, and scholarship processes. From my experience R1 deposit deadlines for R1 (10 weeks) than for R2 (6 weeks). Deposit amounts can range from \$1000-\$6000 depending on the school. Scholarship processes vary by school. Most schools announce some scholarship awards at the time of admission (there is no additional application for these scholarships). After admission some schools have an additional scholarship application and further awards are made. However, for some schools there is no additional scholarship application. Hope this helps.

Regarding scholarships - if you mean merit-based scholarship, then the school will offer it to you with the offer of admission or a bit later. if this is a need-based scholarship, then usually you have to apply for it and the timing varies according to the case.

So I guess merit-based scholarships are awarded depending on a shadow ranking of applicants?
