Let number be X.
X = 45% of \(\frac{7}{12}\) of 240
X = \(\frac{45}{100}\) x \(\frac{7}{12}\) x 240 = 63

Hi All,

We're asked for 45 percent of 7/12 of 240. Since we're multiplying 3 values, we can perform the necessary calculations in a number of different ways (depending on how we choose to 'format' the numbers - as percents, fractions or decimals).

45% can be written as 9/20... so the calculation would become....

(9/20)(7/12)(240)

Notice how 20x12 = 240, so the denominator of this calculation will 'cancel out' the 240. This leaves us with 9x7 = 63

Final Answer:

7/12 x 240 = 7 x 20 = 140

45/100 x 140 = 9/20 x 140 = 9 x 7 = 63
