See the attached JPG.

Explaination: If you extend AB and BC you will get two overlapping triangle DBE and ABC.
As BA=AD and BC=CE, the sides are in 2:1 proportion. so should be the case with AC and DE(which is diagonal, as angle is 90 degree)
so AC:DE = 1:2 => DE= 12 hence radius will be 6. Area= pi * 36
hence Answer is C.
