(1) The perimeter of the figure is $$12π.$$

What is the area of the figure above formed by a square and four semicircles?

(1) The perimeter of the figure is 12π.

(2) The perimeter of the square is 24.

#1:
side of square be x
so perimeter of square is 4x

for the 4 semicircle the length of the square is equal to diameter of each semi circle or radius is x/2

circumference of 1 semi circle : 2*pi*x/2 = pi*x since 4 of them are there so 4*pi*x

total perimeter of figure : 4*pi*x+4x=12 pi
or say x= 3pi/(pi+1)
area can be found..
sufficient

#2: 4s=24
s=6
sufficient as we can find the area of circle .
