What is the area of triangle PST shown above?

(1) The area of rectangle PQRS is 40.

(2) The area of parallelogram PTRU is 32.

What is the area of triangle PST shown above?

(1) The area of rectangle PQRS is 40.

(2) The area of parallelogram PTRU is 32.

Statement 1: Insufficient.

Statement 2: Insufficient.

(1)+(2)= Area of triangle PST+Area of the triangle QRU= Area of rectangle- Area of parallelogram=40-32=8. Since PT is parallel to RU. Since, PST and QRU are congruent trainagle, which menas, bothe areas are equal.
Hence, 2*Area PST=8/2=4. Sufficient.

IMO, Option C.
