If X>7, then Median is 6.5
If Mean and Median is same, then the median is 5.5.

How come E......
stat 1 tells us if If X>7, then Median is 6.5 - Suff
Stat 2 tells us that The mean of the six numbers is equal to the median for which median would be either 5.5 for X=2 or 6.5 for X=8- Not suff
Ans should be A

got A for this one as well.

regardless of the value of x, after ordering the list from least to greatest, you see that the median is always 6.5

THE MEDIAN IS THE AVERAGE OF THE 2 MIDDLE VALUES
THEN THINK OF THE NUMBERS AS 2 SET ( 4,5,6) ( 7,X,9) OR (7,9,X) EITHER WAYS 6,7 ARE THE MIDDLE ONES..............SUFF

FROM2

WE CANT DEDUCE THE LOCATION ( ORDER OF X) .......INSUFF
