Statement #1: k + m = 9
Statement #2: k = 2m

What is the value of [3(k + m) + 4k]/[2k + m]? [#permalink]

transform the given expression into $$\frac{6k+3m+k}{2k+m} = 3 + \frac{k}{2k+m}$$
#1 doesn't help
#2 does

Straight substitution:
1) k + m = 9; k = 9-m
3(9) + 4(9-m)/ 2(9 - m)+ m => 63 -4m/ 18 - m. Not suff

2) k = 2m
3(3m)+ 8m/ 5m => 17/5. Defined value. so Suff.
