Insufficient.

(1)Another way to look at it is that |X-Y| means the distance between point (X,0) and point (Y,0) on the x-axis. So, |p-|P||=3 means distance between point p and point |p| is 3, which is only possible if p is negative, for example, the distance between -2 and |-2| is 4 but the distance between 2 and |2| is zero. So, as the distance between p & |p| is 3. p=-3/2 or -1.5 for the distance between p and origin will be half of that between p & |p| and p is established as negative. so, p=-1.5.

Hence, 1 is sufficient.

(2) 2|p|=3 or |p|=3/2, implies p=+3/2 or -3/2.

2 is Insufficient.

Answer A, 1 is sufficient.

Bro , in st1 for p-|p| to be +3 , p>|p| that is never possible, so the only case possible acc to given st is p<|p| ,so st1 is sufficient
