What is the value of x?
(1) – (x + y) = x - y
(2) x + y = 2

I picked E, but it's A. How does (1) give you a value?

-x-y = x-y ---> -x = x ... then what?

St1:
-x-y = x-y
-2x = 0
x = 0
Sufficient.

St2:
x+y=2
Many ways to get here: 1+1, 2-1, 3-2 etc... Insufficient.
