(1) \(x+1=3\)
(2) \(x−1<3\)

AD/BDCE
Statement 1:

\(x=3−1=2\)
ie \(2-1 =1\) Sufficient

AD/BCE

Statement 2:

\(x−1<3\)
means
x could be 3
\(x−1=3−1=2\)
or
x could be 2
\(x−1=1−1=1\)

Hence Not Sufficient

AD/BCE

Answer A is correct.

(1) \(x+1=3\)

x = 2 sufficient

(2) \(x−1<3\)
x < 4 (x could be any number less than 4) insufficient

gmatbusters is my reasoning correct ? :)
