st2 limits y to one positive and one ngative possible values for y.
st1 tells you nothing about the exact value of y (it depends on x). but it implies y is positive.

both together tells you exactly what is the value fo y.

y can be -8 or 14 from 2. but using 1, u can eliminate -8.
