Statement 1: Ratio: y/x = 1/3. but ratio will not help us get exact value of . NOT sufficient.

Statement 2: x + y = 80. There are number of possibilities here. NOT sufficient.

Combining :

y/x = 1/3

x = 3y

x + y = 80

3y + y = 80

y = 20.

Thus , the correct answer is A.

Given- Y/X= 3/1, Suppose k is the constant
then Y= 3K and X= K
We cant find the value of Y here. Hence statement is insufficient.

Statement 2- x+y= 80, Hence, We cant find the value of Y if we don't know the value of X. hence insufficient.

By putting together- 3k+k= 80 so K= 20
y= 3K , SO Y= 60.

Option C is correct.
