Hi NirmitGupta,

Can you go into a bit more detail about why you cannot take the GMAT until May, 2018? I ask because that would place your earliest potential Test Date over 7.5 months away... and that would be a LOT of potential study time (possibly too much) if you were going to begin your studies now.

Hi Rich,
Getting married at the end of this year and my startup being over demanding.

Cheers!

Hi NirmitGupta,

Based on what you've described, I imagine that your life is pretty busy right now, so it makes sense that you wouldn't take the GMAT until next year. To that end, when do you plan to commit to your GMAT studies (re: consistently spending 15 - 20 hours each week)?

Rich, I will start with CR this week.I plan on using Manhattan(5th edition) and CR bible powerscore. Then I will move on to SC and RC.I personally want to spend a lot of time on the verbal part :)

I am open to suggestions.

Cheers,
Nirmit

Hi NirmitGupta,

"Easing into" your GMAT studies right now is fine - so what you're thinking about doing should be okay. At some point though, you should plan to take that initial practice CAT (as I mentioned in my earlier post). Given the timeframe that you've described, it's not necessary to do that right now, but we'll have no way to know whether your studies are actually helping you to improve or not until we have that initial score and then a later CAT Score for comparison purposes.
