Statement 1:
1st week price = 75¢
No information about the 15th week price.
Insufficient.

Statement 2:
Price rose by 1¢ a week every week during the first four months. Since 15th week comes in the first four months, its price can be calculated if given the price of any other week (along with the week number) during the first four months. Since no such information is given, this statement is insufficient.

Combining statements 1 and 2:
Sufficient because the 1st week price is given and the rate of increase for each week is given. Price in the 15th week can be calculated by adding 1¢ 14 times to the 1st week's price.

Therefore, answer is C.

(1) growth rate is unknown. Insuff.
(2) no info about the initial price. Insuff

(1) + (2) all components are known so we can calculate the price for 15th week.

Answer C.

shouldnt it be E instead as we cannot assume what will be the increase in price after week 4?

St 1, this provides a good starting point, but we can't determine the price during the 15th week by only looking at the price the start of the year.
St 2, The price change per week doesn't have a starting point or end point, so we have no idea what it will be in the 15th week.
1+2 gives us the information we need, a starting point and the weekly change.

It says first 4 months, that is we know it holds for 16 weeks.
