$$\frac{a}{b}=c+\frac{d}{b}$$

$$\frac{d}{b}=\frac{a}{b}-c$$

$$\frac{d}{b}=\frac{a-bc}{b}$$

$$d=a-bc$$

When a is divided by b, the quotient is c and the remainder is d

Here: a is the Dividend, b is the Divisor, c is the Quotient and d is the Remainder

Ex: 23 (Dividend) divided by 6 (Divisor) gives Quotient 3 and Remainder 5
Observe: 23 = 6*3 + 5

The relationship between these terms is:

Dividend = Divisor * Quotient + Remainder

Thus: a = b*c + d

=> d = a - bc

plug in values ; a= 5 , b = 2 and c=2 and d = 1
so to get d=1 ; plugin values to choices
we get option C = 1 ; i.e same as d value
IMO C a - bc
