When a positive integer n is divided by 3, what is the remainder?

(1) The sum of the digits of n is 11.
We can use the property of divisibility by 3. It say a number is divisible by 3, if it sum adds up to a multiple of 3. In other words the REMAINDER too will be the same in both the cases
So 11 divided by 3 gives 2 as remainder. Thus, n divided by 3 gives 2 as the remainder.

(2) When n is divided by 9, the remainder is 2.
So number is n=9x+2.
When you divide 9x+2 by 3 we get 2 as the remainder as 9x is divisible by 3.

#1
digits shall be ; 29,38,47,56,65,74,83,92
remainder is always 2 ; sufficient
#2
n is divided by 9, the remainder is 2
it would be true for n when divided by 3 as well
sufficient
