Whats wrong with A? More into X than into Y.

Same question. I don't understand why A could not work. I can understand C but it is for me unnecessary to repeat/remind the subject+verb (they are).

Experts please help out. This is from bellcurves and probably quite important to get it straight before I take my test.

I see no good reason to choose C,
I picked A.

(A) than into
(B) than they do into
(C) than they are into
(D) as into
(E) as

I am confused now. Please explain.
Dont forget KUDOS if you like the post.

A is wrong and E is correct. My Reasons are as follows:

Correct idiom is : More X than Y.
Option A says:
Homeowners are more likely to put money into Stocks than into Home Improvements..
This can be trasnlated to: ... more likely to put money into X than into Y.
'More X than Y' is not maintained.

Option C says:
Homeowners are more likely to put money into Stocks than Homeowners are into Home Improvements.
This can be translated to ... H are more likely to put money into X than H are [ likely to put money ] into Y
The above maintains the Idiom: 'More X than Y', although the Subject is repeated in the second part [which I think is Redundant]

So answer is C.

Re: When the real estate market is uncertain, homeowners are more likely [#permalink]
Correct idiom "more than"
D and E eliminated.

Comparing actions ...Homeowners are...to put money ... than they do in some other thing
Orange vs Orange
Incorrect: People from ABC company are smarter than XYZ company.
We are not comparing company here.
Correct: People from ABC company are smarter than (people from) XYZ company.

Small correction: I missed the option B. It's like, I am more likely to do this than do that

Best choice is B.

OA Pls.

Re: When the real estate market is uncertain, homeowners are more likely [#permalink]
Agree about A. If you rephrase the sentence, you get:

Homeowners are more likely to put money into stocks than into home improvements. (which is parallel)

BTW, according to sc-simple-but-tricky-70600.html
OA is B, which can't be right because of "are"

wow! no doubt people suggest studying SC from a good source.

1> We don't know what is the source of this SC.

2> this question is all over the place, and I see people trying to explain (the answer somehow), and at some places answer is A,in some group its B ,and E is defended by some ?

3> no comment/suggestion from any Expert (make me doubt this question even more)

Not a good question to waste time on, and BTW logic to support E is not full proof.
