So I am planning on taking GMAT in November/ December.

I just finished taking CFA L2 and had a pretty detailed study plan. I'm not sure where to start with GMAT!

Do I take a diagnostic test before even looking at the material, or do I do a once over first?

How do I structure my study time - (i.e study specific quant type of questions (mixture, prob, etc...)

I plan on getting all the recommended materials, and have searched to look at some other study plans, but just not sure where to start or how divide my study days.

Thanks!

Hey thepinkman right? I just finished L2 as well. I took a GMAT Prep diag first, just to see where I am and how long I need to study. I think that's the best first step. You need to see how much junior high/high school math you still remember, how good you are at verbal stuff, etc.

Most people recommend anywhere from 2 - 4 months of study time. The thing with GMAT is scheduling is very flexible, so you can just sign up for the exam when you're ready. I started studying this week, and I'm planning on about 12 or 13 weeks of total study time. I think after 4 - 6 weeks, you'll be able to gauge how much more you need to study, and then you can just sign up!

Also, you'll see that GMAT is really a stroll through the park compared to L2. I scored 680 on my diagnostic, which I think is already above 90th percentile. I'm trying to get to 99.

Good luck.

You should start with a diagnostic test - anyone will work, but the easiest and best is probably to take the GMATPrep (get GMATPrep).

Then you can build a plan that will focus on your weaknesses and will give the best ROI for your time. The other question you will need to answer - what GMAT score you want?
