Hi Guys!!

I am new to this site.

I am about to start my preparation for GMAT which i plan to give in end of Aug 09. I have gone through a couple of threads regarding the books for preparing for GMAT. I want to know to start with should i start with the Princeton Review / OG-12 / Kaplan? I will have to buy these books as i don't have any of them. One of my friend's advised me to read the 3 in the same order.

Thanks.

If you are a little rusty with Math..you might want to pick up a Mth workbook that goes over all the basics and advanced. I think PR, Kaplan, anf Tompson Petersen all have them.

Don't start with OG. Kaplan is probably a stronger book. If you want math-specific, get the Kaplan Math Workbook.

Although many refer to Jeff Sackman's Math Bible as a advanced math guide, I would recommend it for beginners. I've been using this book to build fundamentals in math and to push my Q from low high 30s to low 40s. Later in the game I included Manhattan and 4gmat in an effort to push from 42 to high 40s.

Jeff Saackman's math Bible does not contain advanced material as sugested by many members of this forum, but is a great resource and provide really good coverage of 40 most tested concepts in GMAT. Friend of mine has to start her own preparation, she already got Q36 in real exam taken without any study. I think she is going to start with Math Bible and than continue with MGMAT, OG, 4gmat and than Powerprep, GMATprep and GMAT Focus, respectively. In 5 months I expect her to break into 48-49 territory.

I used this book as a Math primer:
http://www.amazon.com/ARCO-GMAT-Math-Re ... pd_sim_b_1

It is a thorough review of all the basic concepts. It is rather long, so probably not ideal if you are time constrained. But I found it approach some of the word problems such as d=rt in all the different variations.
