You see that each option has 2 in the denominator. So multiply .5729 with 2 to get 1.1458.
Options (C) and (D) seem to be closest.

Option (C) has 1000 in the denominator so we get decimal at the right place. Answer (C)

D. $$\frac{11.45}{2*10^2}$$

E. $$\frac{1144}{2*10^4}$$

We should see that 5,729 x 2 = 11,458. So 0.5729 = 5,729/10,000 = 11,458/20,000 = (1.1458 x 10^4)/(2 x 10^4) = (1.1458 x 10^3)/(2 x 10^3) = 1145.8/(2 x 10^3) ≈ 1146/(2 x 10^3), which is closest to Choice C.

Alternate Solution:

Since 0.5729 is a just a bit greater than 1/2, we are looking for the answer choice to reduce to about 1/2. Choice A is roughly 11/200, Choice D is about 11/200, and Choice E is about 1000/20,000, so we can eliminate them quickly.

Choice B is 1144/2,000, and Choice C is 1145/2,000, so we must do the quick division of each, obtaining 0.572 and 0.5725, respectively. We see that Choice C is closest to 0.5729.
