Not sure what "only A" means for answer choice E. I think you mean "E) only 1"

1) Remainder is always positive - NOT TRUE. The remainder can also be zero.
ELIMINATE A, B and E

Note: Now that we've narrowed the correct answer down to B or D, we need not check statement 2, since both answer choices state that statement 2 is true (which is it)

3) Remainder is always less than the divisor. TRUE. If positive integer K is divided by D, we know that 0 < remainder < D

The Division Theorem states that for any integers a and b , there is a unique q and r where:

b×q+r=a and

0≤r<|b| .

This number r iswhat we usually mean by the “remainder”, and by definition it is not negative.

what if negative integer K is divided by negative integer D then remainder will be greater then D. Please correct if this wrong.
