Okay... GMAT on 20 October (2 weeks from now).

About 2 years ago, Kaplan was hurting where I was an undergrad, and so I taught the Math section of the GMAT (given previously good MCAT and SAT scores).

Present day, I'm wanting to write the GMAT for myself, and I'm finding myself all over the map with respect to my scores. In order:

Princteon: 600 (Q43/V31)
GMATprep: 690 (Q49/V34)
GMAT paper: 690 (Q48/V38)
Princeton: 630 (Q40/Q39)
Kaplan: 540 (Q31/V28)

But I'm going through the OG11, and finding that all the data sufficiency questions are really really easy... MY only sticking point is I can't do better than 60% on SC (even with the MGMAT guide).

Given this, what's your perspective? I'm pretty scared by the wide array of results, meaning I can either rock out or **** the bed on test day...

I'm going to do a MGMAT tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes, but it's just really really weird to have a 160 point range?

Quant is really tough in MGMAT tests. Use it to improve your stamina and manage your time correctly. If your having timing issues on the quant section on MGMAT, make an intelligent guess at the tougher questions and just move on.

I found myself freaked out after doing the MGMAT quant section yesterday. I think it effected my verbal score as well. I got 630 (Q:47, V:30). I'm half way through my preparation and planning to give the actual GMAT in about 2 months.

And regarding your SC, carefully analyze the OG11 explanations and refer to Manhattan SC. I'm sure you'll improve.

you need to realize that you aren't comparing apples to apples here. every company uses different scoring methods... only one company uses GMAT questions with statistically accurate scoring... and that is GMAC, so the only one that counts is what GMATPrep says. Your GMATPrep and GMAT paper tests overall scores are the same. so your scores are pretty stable

GMATprep 2 710 (Q48 V39)

Made me feel better, although I worry that my 37 right / 13 wrong on Quant and 41 right / 13 wrong on Verbal have too many wrong answers

(Then again, I know clearly where I should focus, only got 1 RC wrong, and 4 CR ... I just can't crack SC!) Aaaah!

MGMAT CAT I - 670 (Q47 V34) ... Keeping my hopes up, if MGMAT is 20-40 points lower than GMAT!

Re-do of GMATprep 1 : 720 (Q50 V38) ...

Saw a couple of questions which I remembered... So I'm happy rounding that down to a 700. So long as that first digit is a 7 :) :) :)
