Why you need a 700+ GMAT when a QMUL grad got in LBS without even taking one?

Just like many of you here who have worked very hard for GMAT to get in LBS, I also did some research on how people get in.

youtube:
watch?v=jC8_OBVAJpI.

This inspiring LBS MIM student is a living proof of how you
-do not need a GMAT (waived)
-can be a graduate from QMUL( which is not top 100th in world ranking) and get the GMAT waiver+ merit scholarship

Apparently, from her 'vlog' , she seems to have outstanding extra-curricular/ language skills...

--------
My intention is to share that there is always an exception.
Particularly in this forum where many people strived and are encouraged to achieve a high GMAT score as a necessity to be considered for any desirable programme.
I find it encouraging to see such exceptional case happening in LBS. :)

But some consulting and banking firms ask for your GMAT scores.

That might be true.
But the point is if someone wants to get in LBS Mim and gets a merit scholarship, there is a silver lining for you without a GMAT score, and even without having graduated from one of the top 100 universities.

This seems like an insanely salty thread. You are stripping away the rest of the candidacy of a person who studied from an unknown university and didn't have a GMAT score. What you cannot see here is the rest of the personality of that person, that was so impressive that a top TOP university in the world does not give two curds about their GMAT or undergrad.

Moaning in this thread that a candidate got in fair and square with a scholarship just shows that you might not be mature enough for the program.

Good on you then, maybe I read too much between the lines. However, I do believe that having this sentiment at the top of your post would be better since it will convey your motivations in a much better way.
