Don't you guys think "J. J. R. Tolkienâ€™s style" and "Margaret Weis's style" should be compared here instead of "J. J. R. Tolkienâ€™s style" and "Margaret Weis"?

Here, it's more about a modifier than comparison.

The sentence says, "With X's Y, Z has done something"
