Modifying phrase should correctly modify the author, which is not the case with A,C & D.

But doesn't "J.K. Rowling is estimated to be worth over $1 Billion" sound odd? I mean how can J.K. Rowling worth$1 Billion??

The final fight is between B & E becasue rest of them have modifier issue.
B -> correct idiom - estimated to be...
E -> has had - incorrectly used.

Cheers!

Hi sayantanc2k,
Sorry I mean E not D.It is a typo,my bad.
Could you please elaborate more on the tense of choice E?
If it is to illustrate that JKR has income,sometime in the pass,worth that much,is it correct?

In option E the verb "to have" is used in present perfect. The meaning implied is that JKR had income worth over $1 Billion at some point of time in the past, and the effect of having that income is still there - this meaning is not intended. If the intended meaning were that JKR had income at some point in the past, simple past tense would be appropriate. E)J.K. Rowling has had income worth over $1 Billion With much success from writing the 10 Harry Potter books - This is talking about author of the Book, so the JK Rowling need to follow. Correct Answer by POE is B though it looks weird. Not a GMAT type question. _________________ Regards SD ----------------------------- Press Kudos if you like my post. Can we quantify person as in the correct choice? Given that Joe has his asset worth$5 billion,we can say Joe worth $5 billion? 2)In option E,the use of present perfect is not to point out a particular event occurs before the other,but to indicate that this event started in the unspecified time in the past. Is my understanding incorrect? The problem with option D is that "With much success from writing the 10 Harry Potter books" should refer to J.K.Rowling, not his net worth. Option B is the best of the lot - though it should be clear that a person's work is worth some value, in absence of other grammatically correct sentence, it is acceptable to state that the person himself is worth some value (because of his work).

No second thought while choosing option B as the answer. As "success from writing the 10 Harry Potter books" should refer to J.K.Rowling, not his net worth.
