subscribers countable... so B, D out

'of fewer than three hundred thousand dollars' should be less so E out

now A and C would pick C on A 'with total sales of less than X Rs' sounds worse that 'with total sales lesser than X Rs'

(B) lower than three hundred thousand dollars and less
(C) lesser than three hundred thousand dollars and fewer
(D) fewer than three hundred thousand dollars and less
(E) of fewer than three hundred thousand dollars and of fewer

I think it should be A.

Grammar + Parallelism.

- 'less than' should be used to compare 'three hundred thousand dollars'.
I think here it should be treated as uncountable noun.
We can not say 'with total sales of fewer than' or ''with total sales fewer than'.

- 'subscribers' is countable so we have to use 'fewer than'

- sentence maintains the parallelism properly.
We can say:
With total sales of less than three hundred thousand dollars and with fewer new subscribers than last year, the New England Theater Company is in danger of losing its building.

OA is A!

We need "fewer" for countable noun at the end.
Also, we need "less" not "lesser". Eg: 5 is less than 4.
