Within 20 years it will probably be possible to identify the genetic susceptibility an individual may have toward any particular disease. Eventually, effective strategies will be discovered to counteract each such susceptibility. Once these effective strategies are found, therefore, the people who follow them will never get sick.
The argument above is based on which of the following assumptions?
(A) For every disease there is only one strategy that can prevent its occurrence.
(B) In the future, genetics will be the only medical specialty of any importance.
(C) All human sicknesses are in part the result of individuals’ genetic susceptibilities.
(D) All humans are genetically susceptible to some diseases.
(E) People will follow medical advice when they are convinced that it is effective

why not d or E?

if we negate D: none human are not genetically susceptible to none diseases.

i think D weaken the argument cuz if

also, in E, if we negate: people will not follow medical advice when they are convinced that it is effective.

can someone make sure i negate the sentences correctly, and explain why not d or e?

Thanks.

Last line says - Once these effective strategies are found, therefore, the people who follow them will never get sick.

Thus its very clear that the assumption is made that all kind of sickness are genetically based.
Option C says that all kind of human sickness is because of some kind of genetic susceptibility.

Hence C.

I agree with C.
The conclusion is that following the effective strategies, people will never get sick. The key here is never. For never to happen, all diseases must be encountered by the strategies which means that all diseases should be attributed to genetic susceptibilities.

I think D might be the correct answer.

(D) All humans are genetically susceptible to some diseases.
When negated, D becomes:
NOT ALL humans are genetically susceptible to some diseases.

In this case, although effective strategies are found to counteract the susceptibility, people who are not genetically susceptible do not benefit from these strategies. As a result, the people who follow the strategies will still get sick.

Any thoughts?
