It takes 4 men 6 hours to repair a road. How long will it take 7 men to do the job if they work at the same rate?

So if 4 men repair the road in 6 hours, it would take 8 men 3 hours. There is an inverse relationship. 7 men would take more than 3 hours. 4x6 = 7h. 24= 7h, h=24/7. h= 3 3/7 hours.

Thanks,

4 men take 6 hours

1 man will take 24 hours ( notice that we have to multiply --- there is just 1 man doing all the work!! )

7 men will then do the work in 24/7 hours
