chetan2u On combining the statements we have x>10 which is common to both statements 1 and 2 , shouldn't the answer be C?

Hi..

Yes but that is just one part..

Another range we get is x<-2 from statement I and x<-10 from statement II.
These two ranges have common range <-10..
So x can be -11, then answer for X>10 is NO
x can be 11, then answer is YES
Different answers possible
So insufficient
