Best decision

I started to work with Becky from SBC at the end of November. I was just starting round 2 applications and was also planning to take the GMAT again within the span of a month. As a result, I was down to the wire, totally lost on what to write for my apps, and reached out to SBC for help. A friend of mine had worked with Becky last year and recommended her as a consultant. Working with Becky was one of the best decisions I've ever made. She was an unbelievable consultant. She helped to shape my story as an applicant and position myself in the best way possible to the adcomm committee. Beyond that, she was extremely kind throughout the entire process always making sure that her feedback was constructive and keeping a positive attitude when I was panicking. I truly don't think I could have applied without her help. I was recently admitted to Columbia, which was my top choice and I owe it to Becky. Anyone would be lucky to work with her. I cannot recommend SBC and Becky specifically enough. She'll provide unparalleled support and guidance, and I guarantee you won't regret it.

MY UTMOST RECOMMENDATION!

I was a candidate with an over-represented applicant profile and I was worried that I would not be able to stand out in my applications from other similar applicants for M7 on my own. I applied to Round 2 and signed up for the service with a month and a half left to the first deadline. The SBC team wasted no time in getting me plugged into the process. I had the very first introductory call and resume review with Sarah and she gave me valuable, honest feedback with no strings attached, and I was sold! The SBC team was not pushy at all and even gave me a few days to reconsider “fit” after an initial call with Becky, who ultimately became my admissions consultant. The signup process was very transparent, respectful and organized.

During the first kickoff call, Becky was able to peel back the layers and asked pointed questions to learn about my strengths and motivations. I was not very prepared and had to think aloud and talk through my answers many a time. Becky was very patient with me. The resulting application master document she prepared included a detailed timeline of to-dos and a list of perceived strengths with a couple of accompanying key anecdotes. I kept coming back to this document while writing my essays and filling out my applications. Even if you only sign a portion of your schools up for the comprehensive service, the rest of your applications will benefit immensely from it.

Becky has a brilliant way of isolating weaknesses in my essays, and providing options on how to improve and bring clarity, as she had gotten very familiar with my background and achievements. Also, as MBA applications get creative (Sloan’s faux-optional second essay, Booth’s ppt essay, video essays, Wharton’s TBD etc.), Becky and the rest of SBC team were able to provide more than adequate support and feedback across all of those elements.

Thanks Becky!

Becky @ Stacy Blackman

I had a wonderful experience working with Becky at Stacy Blackman. I was very comfortable with Stacy Blackman from the beginning when during my initial call Sarah took the time to get to know me and understand my strengths and weaknesses and then determine which consultant would be the best fit for me. She suggested Becky as my consultant and after reading her bio I agreed that she would be a great fit and she was.

In my first meeting with Becky, she came prepared with questions to help pull out my stories, some of which i never even considered writing about prior to talking with Becky.

Once we got working on the applications Becky was amazing. She helped me choose what story to tell to answer each of the schools unique questions. She was very patient with me as I went back and forth trying different topics for each essay. Whenever I had a question Becky got back to me very quickly (no matter the time of day) and was alway willing to get on a call and talk through any concerns. Not only was Becky very helpful with my essays but also with my application as a whole, she read and edited all of my short answer responses as well to ensure that my application flowed well and told a consistent story.

I was also impressed with the Stacy Blackman consultant community as a whole. At some point Becky and I felt that we had been looking at my essay for too long and wanted to get a fresh opinion. Becky was able to reach out to other consultants and get their feedback on my essay which was extremely helpful.

With Becky's support I was accepted to my first choice school with a very large scholarship.

Thank you Becky and Stacy Blackman Consulting!!
