I took Veritas Prep's live online course and it was absolutely phenomenal. I was already hitting 730-740 in the original diagnostics but wanted to hit the late 700's. I tried a bunch of courses and only Veritas seemed to attract the best quality students aspiring for high scores. Chris Kane was a fantastic instructor and had high expectations from the students, really pushing us to do better. He taught us some very neat tips and tricks that helped us save time since for a lot of us, time management (especially in quant) was the biggest issue. The skillbuilder exercises, the live videos and the homeworks offered a great course bundle. I'm really glad I took the course to elevate my course and help me get into a top rated school.

I took the online course last year with my wife. I had taken a previous online course that did not prepare me adequately to hit the score I wanted, so I decided to spend the extra $$$ and go for a well-reviewed course.

Veritas Prep's instructors were top notch, able to explain even the most complicated subject matter in a way that I could understand. They were very friendly, immersive, and always stuck around after class to answer questions from the lesson.

I had a harder time with the math sections of the GMAT. Upon request, the instructors offered several supplementary books to boost my knowledge on that particular subject matter.

Obviously, you're going to have to do a lot of your own work on this, and the instructors aren't going to deposit information into your brain. However, if you want to work hard and put in the study time, these guys will do everything they can to help you achieve your desired score. I think that is what sets them apart from the other programs.

Starting January 23rd I took the Veritas Live Online prep course with Chris Kane as the Instructor. The course started on January 23rd and was Monday and Wednesday night from 7-10pm and lasted 6 weeks. I work full time, so I generally would have enough time to take a quick 10-15 minute nap and make dinner which I would eat while class was getting started. A majority of the classes and books are broken into 3 parts. The Skillbuilder, which were 2-3 hours of problems teaching the fundamentals of the lessons, the skillbuilder’s were an incredible resource, for example, the arithmetic skill builder practices addition/subtraction/division/multiplication and number properties, the sentence correction one covered most of the grammar needed, etc. Anytime during I encountered a glaring weakness in basic skills during the 4 months I studied, I would go back and review/re-do that section of the skill builder. The lesson’s were always very productive, I wish I was prepared a little more for some of them, I didn’t always have the skillbuilder’s done before class started which was a mistake on my part.
The lessons were great, I learned a ton, and I really feel like Chris and Brandon(the TA) were honest with us and gave great tips along the way. The 6 weeks of the course I really only spent time doing the Veritas Problems and homework trying to keep up with the course. I dedicated 3-4 hours to studying on nights there were classes(Mondays and Wednesdays) and put in about an hour a night on the other 3 weeknights, the majority of my homework/studying was done on the weekends where I’d dedicate between 4 and 8 hours on Saturday and Sunday. So all in all, anywhere from 15-20 hours a week studying.

Prep Course Review

I can’t say enough good things about Chris and Brandon, they’re both extremely knowledgeable and taught me how to think about gmat problems and how to solve the difficult ones, I relied on GMAT Club reviews to pick the veritas live online course and specifically Chris Kane, I would not have scored a 700 without taking the veritas prep course. Mostly all of the methods I used pushed me over the edge(37 question sets, using the OG, Quantitative Diagnostic) were at the recommendation of my instructors. Feel free to reach out with any more questions regarding the prep course, it was invaluable.

After reading many reviews online, I decided to go for Veritas Prep to help me with my GMAT preparation. I had already taken the GMAT once (5 years ago) and knew exactly where my strengths and weaknesses were and the type of course I was looking for. Veritas matched all the criteria - providing materials (including tons of exercises with detailed solutions and their own developed computer adaptative tests, and the chance to review all the lessons offline). I finally enrolled for an online course with Chris Kane - from November to December 2016.

The lessons were great. I had never tried an online course so I was slighlty afraid that I wouldn't have the chance to ask questions. I couldn't be more wrong. Chris created a very engaging environment and he really pushed people to participate through the group chat in a way that almost felt like a f2f class. Chris even gave out amazon vouchers for the students who participated the most :-). I also learnt a lot from the questions that other students asked. Chris shared many great tips/techniques on how to approach exercises and make the best out of our preparation - in a way that you don't necessarily get by reading a book. Having access to detailed solutions to exercises (with videos sometimes) also made all the difference in my offline preparation, helping me making sure I was taking the right approach to the exercises.

After a couple of months of prep I sat for the exam for a very disappointing grade. Chris made himself immediately available to review my score report and suggest a strategy to improve my preparation for the next attempt. Eventually I got my 720 score which was even beyond my expectations.

I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to achieve this score without Veritas & Chris classes, materials and overall support. I would highly recommend Veritas and Chris for anyone outhere looking to break the 700 barrier.

I completed VeritasPrep's Full Course Live Online with Chris Kane about 4 months ago. First and foremost, Chris is a fantastic teacher and helped me immensely in my preparations. A little background about me, I'm a Naval Aviator looking to transition out of the military next year and roll right into a MBA program. I graduated from the Naval Academy in 2009. I determined about a year ago that I wanted to transition out of the military but was pretty unsure with what I wanted to do. After finally weighing a lot of my options I decided to go down this MBA road.

Initially I purchased all of the GMAT Official Guide books and just started churning away at problems. I quickly realize I didn't know crap and wasn't making much progress... I hadn't been in school for almost 8 years and was horrified with how much I had forgotten. Everything from simple number properties to algebra to reading comprehension. I honestly started to doubt whether I would even be able to learn all of this information again and be able to score well on the GMAT. After talking to a couple of friends who were in the same boat I was recommended just to sign up for any prep program. I researched them and settled on Veritas Prep. Let's be clear though, this isn't a program where you can just go to the class in person or live and expect much improvement. That will help somewhat but it's a matter of taking what you're learning in each lesson and applying it to all of the homework problems to further cement the given topics. From there you can figure out where you're weak and adjust your studying prioritize to maximize your learning. Unfortunately I don't live near any in-class programs and elected for the Live Online. Overall I found the Live Online class to exactly what I needed. The overall syllabus will start with more of the basic concepts of each topic and transition to the advanced topics. Chris kept the classes very interactive and was able to portray all of the learning objectives clearly and concisely. I seriously only have praise for how Chris taught the class and especially the study plan he laid out after the completion of the test. Overall the course structure and work-load weren't terrible while working full-time in the Navy. I definitely wasn't able to initially keep up with all of the homework problems but that's completely okay with the structure of the class. Once the class is complete Chris provided a rough study plan that includes going back and completing all of the homework problems.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the VeritasPrep Live Online Class with Chris Kane. It was about a 6 month preparation process for me, primarily due to work taking up a lot of my time, but I went from a high 500 score on the practice test to getting a 710 on my GMAT on the first attempt. My quant score wasn't great and I may end up studying for another month with just heavily focusing on the quant-side of the house but am still very satisfied with everything overall.

I had a great experience with Chris's Live Online GMAT Prep course. The curriculum was very comprehensive and included everything you need to know for the test. In addition, the in-class instruction was excellent. Chris covered ways to approach questions on different parts of the exam, commonly missed question types, and strategies to ace the most difficult questions. In addition, he made class both engaging and enjoyable even after a long day of work. The course helped me improve my score from a 690 before I started studying to a 770 on test day! I would recommend Chris’s course to anyone looking for effective GMAT Prep instruction.

I set an ambitious goal (740+) before enrolling in the class and was able to achieve it thanks to Chris and the Veritas curriculum. Pre-course, I had relied on excel and a calculator for virtually all math since graduating college, so my skills were embarrassingly rusty. The Veritas skillbuilders helped get my basic skills back in order and the course did a great job of getting me prepared for the test. On verbal I was impressed at how Veritas makes you understand what actually matters for the test, rather than memorizing pages and pages of grammar rules. Chris is a pro's pro and I couldn't possibly recommend this course enough.

Veritas approaches the GMAT like the test is a puzzle to solve. The live online class was very interactive. I felt compelled to participate and my instructor, Chris, kept everyone in our class engaged.

Veritas's class materials are plentiful and extremely useful. I preferred taking their practice tests over those from the official guide because Veritas's answer explanations are much easier to understand.

After the live online class was completed, I was able to email my instructor directly to ask for advice on strategies to prepare. About a week after the class, I took the exam and that was a little too soon after, but I was able to use that score as an assessment of where I needed to practice more and improve. After another few weeks, I was able to improve my score by another 50 points. The total score improvement from before taking the Veritas course was 70 points.

I would recommend this class to anyone looking to take the GMAT and improve their score.

After 1,5 years of learning math at the university, one year of after work/school help with math, and many failures, I thought it was time for a change. I decided to join a GMAT prep course.

I came upon the Veritas Prep course and decided to contact them. From the moment you send an email to the Veritas Prep center, you see what the Veritas Prep course is made of. The people are helpful, fast in their response and very friendly! After my story and their recommendations, I decided to follow the course given by Chris Kane.

Chris Kane is an amazing teacher! Very professional and very helpful. His dedication to every student is amazing and he is always available for any questions. Even when the classes were over, he still helped the students out very well. I showed him my GMAT score I got after finishing the class, and he gave me some great tips on how I could improve myself for the next time. So I'm still studying, but I'm sure I'll do better than the last exam!

Even though I did not score extremely high, I scored a 330 before the classes, and improved it by 200 points on my first try after the classes!, I still believe the Veritas Prep course has improved my critical thinking and way of analyzing texts, a lot!

If you're considering a GMAT prep course, I highly recommend the Veritas Prep course, and especially the live classes hosted by Chris Kane!

TL;DR – For me, the Veritas Prep live online format was surprisingly more effective than a traditional classroom format. It combines taking the class in an environment that’s most comfortable for you and interacting in real time with your fellow students and instructors. At the midpoint of the course, I already saw a 90-point practice test score increase. If that doesn’t represent success and improvement, then I don’t know what does!

I decided that I needed some outside GMAT test prep after coming having a classic freak out over the realization that I was completely unprepared for a fast approaching GMAT test date. I initially balked at the idea of spending over $1,500 for test prep but also knew that I had to do something to help progress with GMAT. Luckily, I’m involved with the Forte Foundation and they provided a discount for us. I’ve seen several other ways to get discounts to Veritas through attending events or webinars. I would highly recommend taking the time to find a way to get a discount because it’s worth it but I will contradict myself by also saying that the course is 100% worth the money even if you didn’t have the discount.

I registered for the Monday/Wednesday live online class with Chris Kane over the phone with Farrah. She was very helpful and went over several details of the course and what I was getting when I signed up. Additionally, she provided me with a great example of how the live online course format worked in order to prepare me for the experience of using it for my course. After I registered and paid for the first of three payments, I got a box from Veritas in the mail that included 12 course books, an essential guide to some of the top MBA programs, and a dry erase packet and pen that mimics what you’ll get on test day. You also get instant access to your online student portal after you register.

To be honest, Veritas gives you so many resources that it’s initially overwhelming. They do a great job of giving you first steps that helps you work through the student portal and the books systematically. This is mostly given to you in the first of the course books. With these learnings, it becomes very easy to use the online portal effectively.

On class days, it’s surprisingly how much similar it is to a real class. You still get nervous about speaking up (via chat) and can get called on unexpectedly. Chris did this often! It really helps at keeping you engaged for a good majority of the lesson. Many working professionals know that the mark of a great meeting or seminar is not watching the clock. It’s amazing how quickly three hours of instruction passes by. Before you even realize it, the 6 weeks of class is over.

During class, the instructor takes you through a concise version of the book’s contents and its exercises. You should have the book with you during class to follow along but the class is not a substitute for the book because the class goes faster than the class and often skips over details that you might find useful. Almost all of the exercises that you do in class are a part of the lesson section of the book. I found it most beneficial to have the book with me during class and then go back and watch the On Demand lesson at my own pace later. It’s two different deliveries of the lesson but highly effective. I found that it allowed me to take advantage of all the methods of learning that I was paying for. I recommended this system to a friend that was also taking Veritas but with a different live online instructor and she also found it helpful.

Chris was truly a wonderful instructor. I don’t know how he does it but it really feels like he gets to know his students throughout the course. He gets really good at letting each of us know what we were probably thinking when we selected an incorrect answer. It’s creepy but in a good way… although still creepy enough that we talked about it class. How does he know?! He was great at entertaining us through our lessons with stories about his past students and experiences as a GMAT instructors. Our incentive to do well (valuable contributions to class) during class was a $10 Amazon gift card. Never have I seen such competition but everyone is trying to get a 700+ score and into the best schools so you can see it reflected there!

Brandon was our TA and he served as a communicator between the student and Chris and then between the student and the rest of the class. Often times, we would get summed up concise tips from him in the chat along with “student comments” where a student has a comment or question that comes up in the private chat with him but it’s relevant enough for all of us. He was the person that we could bounce frustrations or concerns off of during class.
Even though it’s an online class for the students, you still have the dynamics of a traditional classroom. I’m talking about getting off topic, class clowns, lack of participation (mainly from fear of getting the wrong answer), etc. Chris ad Brandon did a really great job of entertaining us when we were off topic but also keeping us on course to tackle the entire lesson in the given amount of time. In a way, this was nice because you didn’t lose that aspect of class and it meant that you were still interacting with your classmates. This made it really fun for me.

Because you’re only chatting, it’s easier to “break the ice” between students. Even in the short amount of time that we were together, I felt the other students and I were all very supportive of each other to the extent that some of us connected on LinkedIn after the last class.
Overall, Veritas Prep gave me the instruction and structure I was missing in my GMAT prep. The curriculum doesn’t offer any shortcuts. It’s meant to give you the tools you need to understand concepts and strategies at a deeper level. After two weeks of practicing post-class, I can see the difference in my thought process with practice problems. I highly recommend not only Veritas Prep but the live online course with Chris Kane!
