I took the Veritas Prep Full Live Online course with Ethan Todras-Whitehill and thought it was excellent! The instructor was entertaining, interactive, and effective. Him and Chris Speck, who assisted, were always available to exchange emails regarding study plans and testing tips. I looked forward to classes and felt really prepared on the basics of content and test strategy based on class material. I only minimally felt like I needed to go back through the book to review lessons in depth and spent the rest of my time focusing on homework and practice questions. Because I had a strong verbal score to start off, I almost exclusively relied on Ethan's strategies for the verbal section and didn't study much outside of that. If you are the type of student who enjoys the structure of a course and benefits from the pacing and organization of it, I would highly recommend this class. If you're effective at independent study, the course is pretty pricey. Personally, I decided to take the course rather than study independently because I wanted to avoid retaking the exam and on that end I'm pretty happy I did!

I took the online course with Ethan Todras-Whitehill. His personality was fantastic and I NEVER felt bored in the class, and that was after working a full day and taking the evening class.

It was a good use of my time, but I would strongly recommend taking a refresher course before attending the live online course. I was totally new to the GMAT when I took the live online course, so I was in the dark for a bit. Also, you get access to the recorded courses once you're signed up if you want a different teacher to go over the same lessons, so having a couple of different perspectives was nice. Overall, my score went up about 70 points from taking the course, but I would attribute that to a ridiculous study schedule more than to the instructional period. Keep in mind too, that you have access to the recorded live sessions for a few months and you can sign up for an additional live online course at no extra charge after you finish your original period of instruction.

Overall, I would recommend this course to anyone, but with one caveat: don't expect to go to the class and understand the material. The money is made in the study time, the course sessions are great for getting up to speed, but the Veritas study and prep material is where the real meat and potatoes is.

Ethan provided an excellent in-person class. In addition to thorough content coverage, he dove deep into strategies to approach different question types, manage time and maintain focus. Every minute of the class was valuable. I've recommended Ethan and Veritas to friends and family.

Be prepared, though, to dedicate a very good amount of time outside of class to studying the material and refreshing basic algebra and arithmetic (prerequisites for being ready for class). I suggest taking the class at least 3 weeks before your exam so that you have adequate time to study after the class. I found that the class teaches you what you need to know, but you need to practice it to be ready to perform well on test day.

I took the Veritas Live Online course and could not have been happier. The format as well as the instructor, Ethan Todras-Whitehill, were both great. For anyone who works full time, the live online class is a perfect way to learn from the comfort of your own home after a long day at the office. The structure of the course helps provide a blueprint for how to attack a very daunting test. Ethan really helped to make learning these dreadful subjects fun and i would highly recommend taking a class with him. He was happy to answer any questions and you could sense his interest in how you were doing was genuine. Additionally, the online practice tests which Veritas provides were great in preparing to take the real thing. I ended up with a 720, which was around 100 points higher than before i took the course.

I highly recommend Ethan's online course through Veritas Prep for anyone looking to improve their GMAT score. He has a very solid understanding of all the verbal and quant properties and most importantly is very good communicating them. I have had many professors with lots of knowledge, but who lack the teaching skills to effectively pass on their wealth of information. I was very pleased with how well Ethan was able to convey even the more complicated GMAT strategies. I honestly enjoyed the classes and saw a large improvement in more score. All of the resources provided by Veritas are very helpful as well.

I highly recommend Ethan Todras-Whitehill and Chris Speck (TA)'s online GMAT Prep course with Veritas. I attended the 6-week class a few months ago and achieved a lot of improvement within a short period of time. I took the GMAT again three weeks after having completed the course and finally reached my score goal that I would not have other been able to achieve studying by myself. They are both fun, dedicated and easy to work with. The 6-week format is also an effective way to hold myself accountable for the prep and really spend time focusing on getting the required homework done. I purchased some Manhattan materials prior to signing up for the course Veritas for self-study, but now looking back I really wish I could have done that earlier!

BLUF: I would recommend this instruction to anyone looking to increase their GMAT score, but cannot attend live classroom instruction.

The live online instruction was excellent in its quality of content. For someone like myself who was overseas and located in a place where classroom instruction was not possible, it was a great choice. However, the internet connection I had was not the greatest and therefore I experienced consistent lags in the streaming rate. This resulted in myself missing some of the finer teaching points that Ethan (my instructor) was attempting to communicate. This would occur for the duration of the 3 hour class, and it left me very frustrated at times. The recordings had the same issues. So, if your internet connection speed is average to below average, I would think twice about spending over $1500 on this option. The Veritas Prep Books are excellent themselves as standalone teaching guides.

Instructor Review: Ethan was excellent. His personal tips, tricks, and methods that he adds to the standard Veritas instruction were instrumental in my 70 point increase. Ethan gets the highest recommendation possible, along with his TA Chris. Prospective students should attempt to get into Ethan's class as much as possible.

Going into my GMAT preparation, I thought doing countless practice problems would suffice in order to master the test. After taking a few practice tests and not seeing any change in my score, I realized I needed to take a different approach. Hoping to take the GMAT by October, I signed up for the Full Online Live Course starting August 21st through September 28th. The classes are 3 hours long with an 8-minute break to help simulate what the GMAT breaks will feel like (so helpful day of). The first class serves as an introduction to what the GMAT is and the classes progress in difficulty as the lessons go on. For each class, you do skill-builders to prepare for the upcoming lessons - these really help prepare you to test out new strategies discussed that day.

In terms of the class, we would go through various strategies for problem types and then do a lot of practice problems. What’s great about the course structure is that it’s live! This means that you can ask questions in real time and get answers straight from the teacher. In addition, the platform has multiple choice options so that you can not only submit your answer, but also see the percentage break down of what other people answered.

The absolute highlight of the course was my teacher, Ethan Todras-Whitehill. From day one, his energy and passion for the GMAT made the 3-hour class fly by. He’s incredibly smart and qualified, but very down-to-earth at the same time. He’d get to know each of his students and strove to help everyone understand the subject matter. In addition, he’s hilarious, so even if you’re learning Data Sufficiency, you will end up leaving class with a smile on your face. Once in a while, he’d check up on me to see how the course was going. Even after the course, he emailed to see how studying was coming along. Knowing that someone else was rooting for me really helped motivate me on test day.

By far and away, the Veritas course is worth every penny. My GMAT score jumped 120 points and I gained important logical reasoning skills along the way. Learning how to think like the test maker made all the difference. Thanks Veritas! And most importantly, thanks Ethan!

If you have decided to start studying for the GMAT, you would be doing yourself a huge disservice by not taking the Veritas Prep Online Course with Ethan Todras-Whitehill and Chris Speck. When I started studying for the GMAT ten plus months ago, I thought I could take a self study online course and maybe read a few books from Manhattan prep and I would get a score of over 700. In May I sat for the test and got a 550. I was fairly taken back by this- I had put in the time, done A LOT of practice problems, and felt fairly prepared. I decided to sign up for a review course and went on the forums and started reading reviews. I watched a short video of one of Ethan’s lessons and was sold (https://www.veritasprep.com/gmat/ethan-todras-whitehill/). I sat at my computer at 8pm on a Sunday for the first class expecting to be put to sleep. I was so wrong. Ethan was extremely charismatic and engaging and I was actually enjoying the class. If you watched the video above, you probably had an “oh snap” moment. Ethan’s lessons involve feeling like that for three hours. The material review accompanied by a set approach for each question type gave me the confidence I did not have before. After the course was over, I kept in contact with both Ethan and Chris as they continued to provide feedback on questions I had along with providing some emotional support. I sat for the exam a few weeks ago and got a 710 (Q49 V38). My score went up 160 points because of Ethan, Chris, and the Veritas approach to the GMAT. My only regret was not taking the class sooner.

Taking the course with Ethan was a great experience. At first I was taken aback by Ethan’s enthusiasm as an instructor and then as the course continued, I realized that this was just his personality. The class was fun and interesting throughout the course, but Ethan found a way to make sure that everyone came out of each lecture with at least 1-3 major takeaways. As far as the basics, Veritas Prep expects you to do your homework and review basic algebra, arithmetic, etc but where Ethan and Veritas Prep excel is at giving you tangible strategy to outperform the competition. Ethan did this by sticking to major themes throughout the lectures and using sometimes quirky but oddly spot on analogies. Overall, I had a great time retaking the course and learned a lot, but unfortunately I did not have a great day on test day, so I came up short of my target score.
