Rob Stringham Reviews

Company: Veritas Prep

What does it take to win Veritas Prep’s Instructor of the Year award?  For Rob, it’s a combination of teaching excellence and just plain dedication.  Famously, Rob went straight from the delivery room after the birth of his daughter to the classroom, making it to a 10am Saturday morning class on time after becoming a father in the middle of the night.  It’s also a function of experience; by now Rob has taught for Veritas Prep for over 10 years in several cities, allowing him to give students in Midtown Manhattan the benefit of years of breakthrough shortcuts and lessons.
A graduate of Columbia Business School, Rob understands his students’ path much deeper than just the GMAT.  A valuation expert in the world of private equity, he’s seen the finish line that his students strive for, and serves not just as a coach on that journey but also as a motivator having seen it through himself.

Rob was an excellent instructor -- one of the best I've had not only in a test prep setting, but overall. It always felt like he truly cared about our success. This was a real difference maker for me, and was a big motivation. No question was too small or "dumb" for him to answer in a thoughtful, caring way. Rob was always "on" -- he was very consistent, and always came into class ready to teach with a positive, caring, energetic and professional attitude -- even when the energy of the class participants themselves was at a low. He would also make himself readily available to answer questions after class, during breaks, or by email. Rob is an overall great guy that you'd be lucky to have as your instructor!

Instructor Rob Stringham

Location New York (Manhattan), NY USA

I learned a lot from the GMAT instructor in both verbal and in Quantitative Just wish the class wasn't as big as 25 students sometimes. I wish the class was 2 months long but learned things that I never would have learned on my own. very insightful information and highly recommend it. The instructor also did a great job answering all questions that an student had in class too. He was also available through email for additional questions we had. Even thought it was a huge class, I feel that I still got individual attention when I needed it. The instructor gives great pointers to each individual should work on, if you ask him for the help.

Good Course

Having been out of college for 8 years when I decided I needed go back to school, I needed a lot of refreshing to get ready for the GMAT. The Veritas books are great. You get a book for each class section so you don't have to lug one giant book around. The class location is really convenient and the rooms were very nice. Rob was a great instructor, my only complaint is that, being somewhat of a brainiac, he could get sidetracked from the task at hand when his mind would take him in another direction.

I was very weak in quant having not done the material in years and the course got me to the 40th percentile on the test. Thankfully I found the verbal material extremely helpful and scored in the 97th percentile there.

IF you are going to take this class, or any class for that matter, you need to do ALL of the work assigned. It's simply not worth paying so much money for the class if you are not going to put the work in. I did put the work in and was happy with the results.
