c is a avg. of two consecutive prime no.'s and it's a single digit number:
prime no: 3,5,7,11 (only possible as c should be less than 10 and be an integer)

c max = (7+11) / 2 = 9
c min = (3+5) / 2 = 4

As 92.abc = 92 (after rounding off)

a max = 4
a min = 0

1. a+b+c = maximum value
c=9, a=4, b=8 (c>b>a)
sum=21

2. a+b+b = minimum value
c=4, a=0,b=1 (c>b>a)
sum=5

Difference between maximum and minimum value = 16.

I had the same problem.

But reviweing i realized that i forgot to test the solutions:

1. With x = -2 you get 7 = -7
2. With x = 8/3 you get 7/3 = -7/3

So there isnt a solutions that satisfies the equation

The question does NOT ask about the greatest integer that COULD divide M + N. ANY number could be a divisor of M + N.

The question asks about the greatest integer that MUST be a divisor of M + N.

P.S. Also, note that the least common positive factor of two integers is1.

I know that we're looking for the maximum integer that must be a divisor, that's why I added in parenthesis the unconditionally . What I'm saying is that we're given divisors of each one seperately and we want to find the greatest one of the sum that MUST be

This information tells us that the increase in the amount of water in the solution increased the total amount of solution by 1/4.

After all, if

S = 1/4 * T

and

S = 1/5 * (T + 2/5 * W)

then,

1/4 * T = 1/5 * (T + 2/5 * W)

5/4 * T = (T + 2/5 * W)

So,

1/4 * T = 2/5 * W

We could solve that to find the relationship between W andT.

Consider taking an Official Focus mock from the MBA site. You could then compare how people have performed on those mocks with their scores on actual exams. When taking a mock try to simulate exam conditions as close as possible (i.e. staying within the break time). You could also get a sense how you perform on Verbal and DI.

Any idea why the last statement isn't a possible fact? I reasoned that it would help if we knew that most porcelain was indeed made at one of the several centers. Otherwise, the porcelain recovered at the archaeological site could have been made by an independent artisan, in another country, etc.

So this passage is very interesting in it's construction and option A and option E seem close using the process of elimination. Also, by the way this question is tagged as "Easy" on the OG 2023-24 version so not sure where the disconnect is this definitely seems like a medium from the way the passage is constructed...

I am not sure how you are suggesting that ''Most of the people who will consider riding on the new roller coaster are not youngchildren.'' is an assumption REQUIRED BY THE ARGUMENT. It can't be a necessary assumption.
At best, the boldfaced statement strengthens the argument. Below is why i think so:

Ok thank you very much. Yes I do not plan to use the calculator, however I want to make sure it is at my disposal and I know how to use it. There has to be a reason the GMAC kept it in the game. So while I know some tips and tricks there may be some problems where a validation of close calculations may help.

Thanks for all the notes, I will keep you posted how my DI practice goes I am just starting with DI so wanted to make sure MBA.com and the actual exam were similar...thank you.

so in this ques part 1 - weighted average I used a technique but I am not sure if the approach is correct, can someone please confirm

I considered the scoring of Hernandis coz his scores were integers
so I
(72a+74b+75c)/ a+b+c=74 where Abc were asigned weights to Exam1,exam2 and final respectively
74B got cancelled on both sides giving me c=2a

then i took Nguyens score
(70a+74b+72c)/a+b+C=72
now 72c got cancelled giving me A=B

so i made a ratio of A:B:C= 1:1:2

Giving my final as a "no"

Is this approach correct?

Given: When it operates at its own constant rate, hose A can fill an empty tank twice as fast as hose B can when it operates at its own constant rate.
Asked: If hose A can fill the tank in x hours, how many hours will it take for the two hoses, operating simultaneously, to fill the tank?

Hose B will take 2x hours to fill the empty tank itself
Hose A and Hose B will fill the tank in 1 hour, operating simultaneously = 1/x + 1/2x = 3/2x
Hose A and Hose B operated simultaneously will take = 1/(3x/2) = 2x/3 hours to fill the tank

IMO A
