This question is very easy; it says to select yes if the furnished facility is being charged more than 10% higher than the unfurnished facility.

The first option is No because 705/730*100 is less than 10% in First year. (If first year is No, then there is no need to calculate the 2nd year)

The second option is Yes because 766/867*100 is greater than 10% and 771/893*100 is also greater than 10%.

The third statement is similar to first statement and the answer is No.

Could you explain the problem in this thought process?

The quotation specifically addresses the government's efforts to eradicate Christianity rather than curbing cultural and economic exchange in general. While it does reflect Japan's efforts to limit foreign influence, it focuses specifically on religious influence rather than cultural and economic exchange as a whole. Therefore, E is not the best option among the five.

Remember this is an EXCEPT question and the correct answer is the one that cannot be inferred from thepassage.

(B) cannot be inferred because it implies an equivalence between the usefulness of high heels today and the practical function of platform shoes during the Middle Ages. However, the passage does not make such a direct comparison. Instead, it highlights the shift from utilitarian purposes in the Middle Ages to purely aesthetic purposes today. Therefore, B is the answer.

On the otherhand  (C) canbe  inferred from the passage as it discusses how high heels alter the appearance and posture of women. It suggests that wearing high heels forces women to tense their legs and buttocks, affecting their posture and making them appear more fit and firm. Additionally, it mentions how high heels elongate the legs and cause the hips to sway, altering the overall appearance of a woman'sbody.

Data Sufficiency (DS) | The amount of water in a salt water sugar solution is increased by 2/5 https://gmatclub.com:443/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3389514&#p3389514 The amount of water in a salt water sugar solution is increased by 2/5. Before the increase, what was the ratio of the weight of water to the weight of thesolution?

Let

W = Orignal Water Weight

S = Sugar Weight

T=  Original Total Weight

Information given:

W is increased to 7/5 *W.

S1) Due to the addition of water, the ratio of weight of the sugar in the solution to the weight of the solution decreases from 1/4to 1/5.

This information tells us that the increase in the amount of water in the solution increased the total amount of solution by 1/4.

After all, if

S = 1/4 * T

and

S = 1/5 * (T + 2/5 * W)

then,

1/4 * T = 1/5 * (T + 2/5 * W)

5/4 * T = (T + 2/5 * W)

So,

1/4 * T = 2/5 * W

We could solve that to find the relationship between W andT.

Sufficient.

S2) After the addition of water, the ratio of the weight of water in the solution to the weight of the solutionbecomes 7/10.

Here we have 7/5 * W = 7/10 * (T + 2/5 * W).

Distance travelled by Truck S in 12 minutes = (50 mph) * (12/60 hours) = 10 miles.

Now, when Truck F starts, it catches up to Truck S at a relative speed of 70 mph - 50 mph = 20 mph.

The time it takes for Truck F to catch up to Truck S is:

Time = Distance / Speed = 10 miles / 20 mph = 0.5 hours.

During this time, Truck F travels at its maximum speed of 70 mph:

Distance travelled by Truck F in 0.5 hours = (70 mph) * (0.5 hours) = 35 miles.

So, Truck F catches up to Truck S 35 miles from Betaville. However, since Truck S has already travelled 10 miles when Truck F starts, the point where Truck F catches up to Truck S is 35 - 10 = 25 miles from Betaville.

Therefore, the correct answer is A) 5 miles.

To support this assumption, it is essential to establish that most young children are unable to ride roller coasters due to height restrictions or safety regulations. This ensures that the primary audience for the roller coaster based on the action film would likely be individuals other than youngchildren.

 I am not sure how you are suggesting that ''Most of the people who will consider riding on the new roller coaster are not youngchildren.'' is an assumption REQUIRED BY THE ARGUMENT. It can't be a necessary assumption.
At best, the boldfaced statement strengthens the argument. Below is why i think so:

Assumption:

Fact:
"Most young children are not tall enough to ride on roller coasters."

The argument assumes that the target demographic for the new roller coaster will primarily consist of individuals other than young children. To support this assumption, it is essential to establish that most young children are unable to ride roller coasters due to height restrictions or safety regulations. This ensures that the primary audience for the roller coaster based on the action film would likely be individuals other than youngchildren.

Critical Reasoning (CR) | Re: The city's new recycling program, which was launched six months ago, h https://gmatclub.com:443/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3389483&#p3389483 Answer:

B) The city's new recycling program is a success and should be continued.

Explanation:

The passage presents several positive outcomes of the city's new recycling program, including a 25% reduction in waste sent to landfills, the creation of 15 new jobs, and the generation of $1 million in revenue. While some critics argue that the program is too expensive, the passage does not provide sufficient evidence to support the conclusion that the program is a failure or that it should be abandoned. Instead, the passage suggests that the program has been successful and should be continued. Therefore, option B is the most reasonable conclusion that can be drawn from the passage.

I considered the scoring of Hernandis coz his scores were integers
so I
(72a+74b+75c)/ a+b+c=74 where Abc were asigned weights to Exam1,exam2 and final respectively
74B got cancelled on both sides giving me c=2a

then i took Nguyens score
(70a+74b+72c)/a+b+C=72
now 72c got cancelled giving me A=B

so i made a ratio of A:B:C= 1:1:2

Giving my final as a "no"

Is this approach correct?

Given: When it operates at its own constant rate, hose A can fill an empty tank twice as fast as hose B can when it operates at its own constant rate.
Asked: If hose A can fill the tank in x hours, how many hours will it take for the two hoses, operating simultaneously, to fill the tank?

Hose B will take 2x hours to fill the empty tank itself
Hose A and Hose B will fill the tank in 1 hour, operating simultaneously = 1/x + 1/2x = 3/2x
Hose A and Hose B operated simultaneously will take = 1/(3x/2) = 2x/3 hours to fill the tank
