I think it is better than nothing but you can only get certain with the official GMAT Prep practice tests. Once we get more people taking both, we will be able to get a sense but for now your guess is as good as mine.

The gmatclub study plan post and posted debriefs by people who scored well/improved their scores could be helpful. You could see what they did/used during their prep journeys, for example. It may also help give a sense how long/likely different score jumps could be.

General GMAT Questions and Strategies | Re: Got 655 from GFE but Verbal percentile is too lower https://gmatclub.com:443/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3389125#p3389125
Schools may not be too worried about your Verbal score. At the same time, from what I've seen, top schools do prefer that each section score be relatively high, for instance, at least 70th percentile.

Meanwhile, with a somewhat higher Verbal score, you could score in the upper 600s or 700s if you maintain high Quant and DI scores.

So, you could retake just to be safe, or you could reach out to your target schools to ask them about what Verbal scores they want to see, and if it turns out that it would benefit you to score higher on Verbal, you could prepare for Verbal some more and achieve a super high GMAT score that would make your application stand out.

If you decide to retake, for tips on how to prepare for GMAT Verbal, see this post.

So, a growth mindset is exactly what’s needed for GMATsuccess . To see why more clearly, let’s consider some examples.

Will Canada do? 🤓 I’ve a similar timeline and I’m looking for an accountability partner too. Preferably one who plans to study daily for a few hours (but the discussion sessions can be held weekly where we can talk about specific questions)

I tend to fall off the prep wagon quite a bit, and I’m thinking of creating a GMAT accountability group. I work best under pressure, especially if I see/know that other people are studying at the same time. I’m planning to study every day for 3-4 hours (ideally in the morning - I’m based in EDT).

In case anyone wants to join, please let me know and I’d be happy to create a group. Once or twice a week, we can also discuss specific questions/topics.

          please add me, thank you!

This is a manageable amount of time, especially if you can commit to regular study hours every week. 1) Build a test-taking strategy and no matter what happens, don't budge fromit. (example: Spend 11 mins on Q1 to Q5, 10 mins on Q6 to Q10 (you can take 1-2 risks), 10 mins on Q11 to Q15 (you can take 1-2 risks), 14 mins on Q16 to Q21. This also means that (since GMAT clock runs backwards) when you have 36 mins left, you should be at Q5 (considering you need 2 mins to answer that question), when you have 26-27 mins you should be at Q10, when you have 15-16 mins you should be at Q15 (since you will need 1-2 mins to answer that question).
              2) Analyze your mistakes on each test
              3) Review your correct answers on each test to ensure that you are getting them correct with right reasoning (and in stipulated time)
              4) Identify patterns i.e. take note of the type of questions you are consistently getting incorrect, concepts/fundamentals on which you struggle, and questions where you spent more than 2 minutes (were they correct or incorrect)
              5) Maintain an error log and keep reviewing

Hi. The honest answer is that we do not know how GMAT Focus will be treated. On GMAT Classic verbal did not make any difference (DI did not either).
The main reason will depend on how some of the rankings will treating and if they will be collection sectional scores or if they just care about the overall. Usually, and my expectation is that it will continue into the future, schools will ONLY care about the TOTAL score.

P.S. For a top program you want to be about 20 points above the average if you want to be safe or come from an overrepresented demographic.

I came across a question where I have to find which fractions have the same number of repeating digits.

                  I found that 1/33 = 0.03030303...

However, I'm still confused with the long division of this particular fraction.

We put down 0.0 to get the numerator 1 to 100, after which we put 3 to the quotient to subtract 99 from 100 to get 1.

After that, why do we not put down 2 zeroes to get 100 again?

I had previously learned that after the decimal point, we can add a 0 to the dividend without adding anything to the quotient. However, over here we are still adding zeroes, but only once. I definitely need some help out with this basic understanding of long division. Apologies if this seems like a trivial question but explainations and illustrations would help a lot.

                  Thanks in advance!

Do Critical Reasoning Practice Questions Untimed🕰️

Detailed analysis is necessary for you to become more skilled at evaluating the logic of arguments and related statements in Critical Reasoning questions. And becoming more skilled at doing something is exactly how you become faster at it.

So, you must start your Critical Reasoning practice untimed. Resist the temptation to skip this necessary step and dive right into completing practice questions “on the clock.” Trust that, as you become better at evaluating the logic of the different answer choices and how each choice relates to the logic of the passage, you will naturally get faster at finding correct answers.

If you don’t initially give yourself time to learn to articulate why incorrect answers are incorrect and correct answers are correct, you ultimately put a ceiling on your ability to answer tough CR questions

Hi! As everyone pointed out, it's an unusual score. I think you will just have to take it with a pinch of salt. 1st and 20th wrong - in no way the score should have dipped to 79.
