Different Approaches to different RC types [#permalink] New post 05 Aug 2012, 11:35
Hi ,

I am just trying to categorize the different techniques needed to solve different types of RC that one encounters on the GMAT

1) Science , History and Passages with lot of details such as names , dates too many events :

The best approach is to skim parts of the passages and prepare notes for the keywords . I have followed Ryhme approach here and it works really well. Here it is

how-to-destroy-reading-comprehension-passages-by-rhyme-30247.html#p205035

2) Passages on Feminism , Political history , Economy , Women movement , Law etc

The approach that best works here is to get the mental image of the passage , cause these passages are not filled with details such as date , time and other events , the idea behind such passages is to understand the flow and arguments of the passage.

Do try these on different RC's . I am sure it will help people struggling with the most problematic area on the GMAT .

BB and Rhyme please add on to it if some more types of RCs can be added. I will work on the list and add on to this one.
