Since the GMAT doesn't cover complex numbers (i.e. square roots of negatives) isn't the answer simply A?

1. though u dont take negative square roots, from one u get P= 0 or 1.
1 is positve but 0 is neither positive nor negative - so u cant say

2. |P|=1 from this P can be 1(positive) or -1(negative)

from 1 & 2 P=1
