Could you please explain whether these sentences are correct or not? A noun in a prepositional phrase cannot be the subject of the sentence. Can a noun in a prepositional phrase be the antecedent?

The usage of 'its' is correct? College is used in 'president of the college' not used seperately. College is used at the end of the sentence.

After the president of the college publicly lamented the sharp drop in the value of its endowment, the head of faculty suggested that the college initiate a fundraising campaign immediately.

The usage of 'his' is correct? Charlie is in the possessive case here.

In spite of Charlie’s protest, his friends—including his closest companion Rafael—insisted that Charlie consider outside aid in dealing with his eating disorder.
