Lets take 123x7 as an example for this problem, where x is the tens digit.
Statement 1 - When 123x7 is multiplied by 1000, we get 123x7000, where thousands digit is 7. Doesn't give any info about x. Therefore, NOT SUFFICIENT.
Statement 2 - When 123x7 is divided by 1000, we get 12.3x7, where hundredths digit is 7 => x = 7. SUFFICIENT.
Answer B.

Let the 5 digit integer be abcde. We need to find d. 1. abcde X 1000= abcde000, so the thoudsands digit of this number if e. Therefore we cannot find d from this information. Hence insufficient. 2. abcde/1000= ab.cde here c is tenth digit and d is hundredth digit. Hence when given the hundredths digit we can say that d=7
hence sufficient.
Remember: tens digit is not same as tenths digit.
123.45: Here 2 is tens digit while 4 is tenths digit
Hence B.

Is oa B for this, still I am not agree, why in case number is 77777? Then tens digit is different? We are getting two values and not uniq then IMO it should be goldeneagle94 wrote: reply2spg wrote: I guess I am missing something here....how come x=7?
